The Real Superstar Poem by TheBigThinkg Human

The Real Superstar

Screams the FM, AM, radio and the media
Birthday wishes to the Beloved Superstar of India
The only one superstar who is part of our folklore
Was born not today; but a day before

He fought for those unable to lift their sword
He wrote for those blinded in the name of God
He lived for those who, for their nation, shed their blood
He died for those who daily fight for their livelihood

When women were still treated as cattle
Precious property for men to battle
He stood for them to have their fair share
He called on them to breathe the free air

The torrent of his words broke all barriers
Even his moustache and turban became carrriers
Of Reform, Revolution, Love and Devotion
Of Courage, Sacrifice and Care for the downtrodden

God gave him us for thirty-two years
After a century and quarter he lives on here
Mining gold and diamond on the 'Tamil' ore
His words, relevant now and for centuries more

Just one day before the STAR was born
The SUN of Bharath had his dawn
He fought the British in flesh and blood
Not on the Shadow Screens of kollywood

Thirteen people followed in his funeral procession
Words of vigor were his lasting possession
Those who now think of him may be few and far
For some, Mahakavi Bharati is the real SuperStar
