The Real World Poem by Anisa Tara

The Real World

Rating: 5.0

I am four years old forever,
A ragdoll broken and bent.
It's in those linoleum rooms,
Where every moment is spent.

I am five years old forever,
Innocence taken from my shelf.
Even at the deepest depths,
I will never find myself.

I am six years old forever,
Covered in tangible shame.
Five fingers for a wrong answer,
I still feel the searing pain.

Someone give me a new life,
Give me my place in this world.
It's been decades since,
But I am still that little girl.
