UNTIL I MET YOU
Most days the dark clouds became a part of me, like my second shadow.
Rain seemingly fell, what felt like, each hour.
It almost felt like a curse to go outside and breathe in nature.
The dark followed me, handing out free samples of misery.
I was naive and drank each glass half full.
Like a camel in the desert, always thirsty.
I've been a loner my whole life
An introvert that felt safe in the corner of a room, rather than enjoying time with friends.
I never made it in time for watching sunsets.
Daydreaming often caused me to be late for work.
It's like the clock inside me was broken.
Animals scurried after an attempt to say, 'Hi'.
I was so lonely and miserable that even a ladybug would refuse my company.
What was my luck in having a relationship?
Lovers always left when I needed them most.
That includes abandoning me when I had a death in the family.
That's the way it used to be.
Since meeting you, I've seen double-ended rainbows with the clearest skies.
My skin glows from the sun always shining like the warmth I feel when you hold me.
I don't care out sunsets or even sunrises, because I get to stare at a beautiful blue moon in your eyes.
Even the animals are treating me like I'm Snow White.
Loving you has been my favorite fairytale come true.
Finally this one has Happily Ever After.
My life was useless until I met you.
