Dusty and faded it sits
Bringing back memories as I stare
You slept in it every night
Dozing off under the TV glare
Your glasses slowly slid
As your head slumped in slumber
Quietly you would snore
Like elves sawing lumber
I dreamt of that chair
As I got closer you faded away
It was blurry, at first
Now, it is all clear as day
I stand here next to your chair
Wondering why it just is not the same
For it was once the center of the house
Now it is like a face with no name
This old dusty recliner
Drifts away from my dreams
A single rolled down my cheek
And my heart tore at the seams
I guess it is time to say goodbye
Not forever, just for now
Tell Grandma I love her
I know you both will always be around
