The Regrets Of A Fish Poem by Lillian P.k

The Regrets Of A Fish

Rating: 5.0

I've never wished on a wishing star,
If I had I would have wished
But nay, this can no longer be;
I am already in the dish

Oh, why did mother never tell me?
To fear great silver hooks?
For here I am now
Being eyed by hungry looks

This is my last testament
So hear me if you will,
For I have learnt a lesson,
To never let dreams be still

I should have wished upon that wishing star
When it sparkled across my eyes,
But now I am only tail and fin,
With no alibi to disguise!
