The Rejected Observer Poem by Rebekah Wooten

The Rejected Observer

Rating: 3.5

it's a floaty feeling a ceiling sort of feeling
a concealing kind of mindset
a certain way to let yourself peel away
because isn't it just easier to observe from far away?
isn't it better to write them all unsent letters
they don't know you anyway you might as well just breakaway
vent to the page the people my age aren't a timelessly inclined kind
pour it out let it spout spill it in red ink tell the parchment what you think
you and the pen are in sync like you and those people who never interlinked nor grew close
the third eye
the awkward goodbye
the velvet night sky
the blowing sigh
the growing lies
the dead fly in the window sill
the knowing silence that fills
her head
and
his
and
mine
our heterogeneous nature is pure
is yours?
