The Riddle Of The Plum Poem by Paul Hartal

The Riddle Of The Plum

A splendid fruit,
dressed in a savoury suit,
the plum's design features
purple-magenta skin,
often thick, sometimes thin,
and with its yellow-green flesh,
without beating the drum,
complementary colors in a mesh
manifest themselves in the plum
And at some point this delicious crop
guided into the mouth to pop;
Yet at the end of the story
Let us leave behind the blues
and bring forth curiosity:
So how did really
choose the plum its hues?
Moreover, I also wonder, verily,
that like an erudite king,
it knows perhaps something
about melody and alchemy,
as well as color theory?
