The Right Kind Poem by Micah Buck

The Right Kind

Silence is louder than a sonic boom.
For both of us together there's not enough room.
Between us it was evident, there was a growing desire.
Together, the spark turned into a roaring fire;
But roaring fires go out unimaginably fast.
You had your chance, but you shattered my heart made of glass.
I waited for your phone call but it never came;
That picture of us beside my bed is still in its frame.
The silence of the phone was enough to make my heart cry.
How could you do this? How could you lie?
The life you're living isn't right for me.
If you gave it up there is so much more we could be.
I think it's funny, you think I can't replace you;
I can get a guy ten times better, maybe even two.
Now that the story of us has come to an end;
I know just how to find the perfect boyfriend.
