The River Between Poem by TIEMA HAJI MUINDI

The River Between

I feel drowning
Not that I cannot swim
I feel blown away
Not that I cannot fly
I feel down
Not that I am moody
I feel you
Who cannot be in my life.

I feel drowsy
Not that I haven’t slept
I feel dizzy
Not that I am about to faint
I feel crazy
Not that I am going mad
I feel you
Who cannot be in my life.

I see darkness
Not that I have no hope
I see light
Not that I backslided
I see crossroads
Not that I cannot decide
I see you
Who cannot be in my life.

I see shadow
Not that I am being followed
I see mirage
Not that I am hallucinating
I see a river
That has no bridge
Beyond it are ridges
That I cannot reach
And you stand at the peak
Who cannot be in my life.
