The Road Behind Me
I walked along the roads of yesterday,
Through golden mornings, storms of gray.
Some paths were bright, some hard to bear,
Some left their footprints everywhere.
I carried memories in my hands,
Like little pieces of distant lands.
The laughter, tears, the dreams that died,
The times I fell, the times I tried.
But now I stop beneath the sky,
And watch the old days passing by.
I cannot change what once has been,
Nor rewrite every page I've seen.
The past was not a chain to hold,
It was a story that made me bold.
Each scar became a quiet guide,
Each loss taught me to look inside.
So let the yesterday drift away,
Like leaves that dance at end of day.
I'll keep the wisdom, leave the pain,
And breathe in peace like gentle rain.
The road behind me made me who I am,
But it does not decide where I stand.
Tomorrow waits, so soft and new—
A wider sky, a brighter view.
And tonight, I'll rest my weary mind,
Leave all my heavy thoughts behind.
For life is a journey, not a race—
And every step deserves its space.
