The Road To Baghdad Poem by Laurence Overmire

The Road To Baghdad

Rating: 5.0

Tomorrow
With all its once unbounded prospects
Suddenly
Looks
Disturbingly short.

What demons have we called
From the depths of our fears
To lead, in bloody assault
This tragic war upon the world?

We will pay in blood, all of us
For years to come
Hatred lying in wait
For our unsuspecting

Children.
