Did you ever smell the beautiful scent of a rose?
Did you appreciate its natural redness?
The direction in the wind it blows,
And how it sometimes bows its head,
When the harsh weather takes its toll.
Did you ever notice watch the grass blades?
Blowing indifferently in the wind,
Trampled down by human feet,
And so many different things.
Have you ever listened for the sparrows?
Singing in the early dawn,
Playing merrily amongst the treetops,
As sleepy heads nod and yawn.
I don’t suppose you noticed anything,
As you race around with little time to spare,
And even if you had the time to appreciate it,
I doubt you’d really care.
