The Royal Procession Poem by Justin Gildow

The Royal Procession

The royal procession is near
And one by one they're decorated with half shirts marked by 2 distinctly different colors
Their half shirts are also marked each with a different kind of crest
Right across the chest
They also carry decorated lances

They all line up
And myself and others all line up to get our places behind them
I always look forward to this time it seems
As I'm paired with a lucky girl or a lucky woman to escort
I place my hand out and she places her hand on top of mine

The signal has been given
And so one by one we march
She greets and waves to the many people on the right
And I do the same to the many people on the left

It's a joy seeing the many masses
Just seeing them smile, wave, and cheer us on

The royal procession sends many or if not quite a few on a natural high
I'm glad to be a part of the royal procession tonight
