The Sailing Light Poem by Pradip Saikia

The Sailing Light

After many seasons
In the mirror of water
There is rainbow

Paper bird is taller than
The airborne kites

In the headrest of the sprouting corns
The river of remembrances

The boat of mica merchants

So long
Where had you been water-fowl

The pomegranate ripened
And fell down

Sonsaki attained puberty

After many a night
O the boatman of serenity
Today is the day
The light has put up its sail
