The Sky Wearing The Green Robe Poem by Pradip Saikia

The Sky Wearing The Green Robe

I pay my obeisance to the deity
Lying supine
Season after season

Even the tree is madly in love
Round-the-clock turbulent sea
The forest bowing from all sides

I bow to the deity

I am charmed by the timidity of forest trees
The lush green standing crops
Is seeking sunlight
With thousand folded hands in prayer

Only one pair of bird in the dark hollow
The sunlight pricks the heart
My deity will come today
Carnival of light
From horizon to horizon

The sky has put on the garb of standing crops
Lush green
Wonderfully bright

I took off my abode
At the shade of the Kadamba
