The Same Old Story Poem by Michael Carlson

The Same Old Story

Same Old Story

It's the same old story
Day after day
There is always worry
And the sky is always gray

Everyone around me is a blur
My world is spinning
Of everything I'm never sure
My vision begins thinning

I feel the same old things
They start to loose their meaning
And day after day each one never brings
The beginning of a never spring

I don't know what I'm doing anymore
Maybe I'll just lye still
Maybe lay down a bit on the floor
or i could just take a pill...

What is life if there is nothing to feel
Is it then fake
Or is it still real?
Maybe i will wake

Find it's all just a dream
Where nothings as it seems
Where no metal ever gives a sheen
And where life has gone up in steam

I just want to close my eyes
End this day
End these gray skies
My life will not be a stupid play

Everybody's life comes to an end
No matter where or when
I'm rushing faster and faster towards that bend
And it'll be like I have never been....
