The Satin Gypsy Poem by c.a. sherman

The Satin Gypsy

Rating: 4.5

Below the celestial glimmer, in the shadow of the moon;
Dances the Satin Gypsy to a secret, wanton tune.
She twirls and dives in whispers, with her gauze she weaves a bond;
Enchanting every creature with her gold-dust laden wand.
Though few have ever seen her, less the fairies, sprites and gnomes..
Like a nomad stealthy tip-toes through the forest where she roams.

Her beauty masks her suffering, her bangles cast a light,
To reflect the pain that lingers, across the darkness of the night.
Few mortals gaze upon her, past her guarded heart in veil;
But those who live to tell it, are forever in her spell.
If she drops her gossamer armor and feels you with her eyes,
You'll see beyond the velvet skin to where her torment lies.

Safe in her ivory tower, beyond the guarded walls,
She shields herself in song and lace, pacing empty halls.
A mystic frightened sorceress...a silver sparkling muse,
Within her burns real passion, a fire no one views.
Secretly she aches to strip the past, to shed it like a coat,
And yield to rescue from the man who braves both beast and moat.

She longs to let the drawbridge down and lose the magic veil,
To arch her back in urgent ardor, and scream a lusty wail.
To look inside her crystal ball and see his honest face,
Promising to touch her soul and take her from this place.
Now with moonlight resting on her skin, his gentle rain appears
And as it melts the crumbling wall, it mingles with her tears...
She feels his warm breath on her neck, her essence burns with heat,
And as he lifts her in his arms, the cloak falls at her feet.
