The Sea And The Storm Poem by Jongoni Sripriya

The Sea And The Storm

Lost long long ago sailing in waters
Now in the midst of typhoon
Where are those shores and coasts?
Now just water and water all around
Still how long I have to wait?
To this storm to pass by

Where's that cheer breeze?
That I have felt long ago
When shall the difference come?
And my lost world would be back
Still how long I have to wait?
Counting each day to pass by

Struck in the whirlpool
Trying hard and hard to get out
When shall the swirl calm down?
And allow me to go away
Still how long I have to wait?
To get me out of this trap

Something dragging me again into it
Making it very difficult to escape
When shall I see sunshine?
Now blocked by dark and gloomy clouds
Still how long I have to wait?
Struggling hard to pull me out

Sailing in unbounded oceans
In the search of shore
Will I reach there soon?
No wind helped to sail my ship
Still how long I have to wait?
Ship with tiny holes and water peeping in

Exhausted pumping water out from ship
No trace of crater through which water coming in
How shall I stop water from flowing in?
Without knowing from where it is entering
How long should I hold my strength?
And keep sailing to reach the shore

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I have related day to day challenges and situations that we all face as the sea and the storm. We all go through tough days where we have no clue how to come out of them and have no choice but to wait and see what time brings ahead.
We will be tired of being strong and fall out from optimistic thoughts and weigh ourselves with sadness and self-worthlessness. This happens in everyone's life at one or the other stage.
How much ever we try to stay strong and overcome situations life never stops throwing stones at us and make is more difficult to achieve what we wanted to.
But as we all know time heals everything and hard-work always pays though little or more delayed things will definitely changeas the way more better than what we actually have ever dreamed.
