The Secret’s Out - Poem by Michael P. Johnson

God’s secret, of the cross is out
Where Satan too, was blind
It brings an end to evil doubt
And freedom to mankind

The devil thought, Christ Jesus fell
His death, was plain to see
But Jesus lives, the world to tell
The truth about the tree

The Father turned an unread page
His secret to disclose
The devil saw, and rent with rage
As Christ from death arose

The death of Christ, God’s faithful Son
Has brought a change to reign
Now Satan knew, that what he’s done
Had all been done in vain

With Christ, God’s curse was on the tree
The curse, through Adam’s shame
Through sinless blood, man now is free
To live in Jesus’ name

The blood of Christ, can yet be heard
Still flowing rich and red
And all who drink God’s living Word
It raises from the dead

The power of the tree remains
For those who seek release
It lifts all burdens, heals all pains
And gives such inner peace

A place is there for you and I
With Christ the perfect man
But ere we live, our self must die
So was and is God’s plan…
