The Secret Of Love

Countless witnesses have agreed
Or leastways come to see
A little love is all we need
To set one's spirit free

Love’s The Father, love’s The Son
The Holy Spirit too
Its love, love, love combined in One
Ordained for Jesus’ few

How much love does The Father give?
And from God's Spirit flow?
How much from Christ so man may live?
Seeking The Truth to know

The Truth that love’s the mighty source
When rage would pay a call
Quietly running it’s wondrous course
Seeing ill tempers fall

The Truth is hidden far too oft
When anger’s at it’s height
Through loves warm voice tenderly soft
We lose the will to fight

No weapon formed could ever stand
No mightier shield could be
Than which now flows through every land
Through Calvary’s dreadful tree

Who can value what Heaven sent?
Can weigh or test love’s tress?
Angels on high, saints who repent
Could never hope to guess

Life’s greatest power’s simply love
Obedience is the key
Let’s walk The Way that leads above
That Heaven’s Love made free.....
