The Seeded Inferno Poem by Abhi Bhattacharya

The Seeded Inferno

Glacier and stones, and the flow runs cold
Hidden by city lights, and the shine of silver and gold.
My heels dug deep in the desert sand, without a drop,
And star studded nights, freeze below open sky, dry as the drought.

And I walk on by in search of wine,
And I run like a loco, fed with burning coal;
For here I am, midst of nowhere,
Married to a myriad of mirages, as destinations do they unfold.

A tavern, and wheels rest a while, the rotund horses breathe.
Red wine and merry friends,
Douse the fire, the inferno seed.

And I walk on by in search of the siren,
And I run like a boat, on the stormy seas;
For here I am, conscious of her song,
Married to a myriad of dreams, my destinations, do they seize.

Give me now, give me tonight,
I only ask but, their words, they always break.
End my road, I beg, I plead,
Take me home, to grow again, along your stake.

And as the fire inside explodes, the lava flows
To engulf the savage and the tender;
In a coffin, buried in a cemet
Is what I did the time render.

Give this time, give me tonight.
Cannot I await a birth again.
Don't save your love, give it all,
Lose the heart of seed somewhere in pouring rain.
