The Shape Of Losing You Poem by Natasa To

The Shape Of Losing You

I didn't know a heart could break

Without a sound, without a quake.

I only felt the silence grow,

Where once your love had made a home.

Your laughter lingers in the air,

I turn around, but you're not there.

Your memories dance beneath my skin,

A thousand endings, no way to begin.

I miss the way you said my name,

The warmth of us, the little things.

The dreams we built, the vows we made,

Now fading like the light of day.

I search for you in crowded places,

In strangers' eyes, in familiar faces.

But no one carries what you knew,

No one feels the way I felt with you.

And maybe that's the cruelest part,

You walked away, but kept my heart.

I'm learning how to breathe again,

To smile through memories and pain.

For love doesn't leave when people do,

It stays in pieces, scattered through.

And though our story couldn't stay,

A part of me will love you anyway.
