The Shore Poem by T.A. Rosenbaum

The Shore

The shore is quiet, the waves and gentle breeze
The night calls to me once more
Beneath the moon, do you remember?
How soon the stars in score
Gently swept by, on high, entranced
As our hearts and minds, they danced
You looked into my eyes, I in yours
And nothing more was done, upon those quiet shores
It was enough, then, as it is now
and yet, somehow
We've always felt
There's more

You can hear me, though you are not here
This moment we share, in this place we so adore
Though here I am today
and you, the day before
