The Shoud Poem by Andy Barrette

The Shoud

If I could pull the long shroud
of illusion from your face
would you allow me to go through with it
or stop me in my place?
If you could, in this moment,
tear down all reality
would you really want to know the truth
or would you let it be?
I once believed the illusion
as it covered my eyes,
the I was made aware of this
cosmic gift in discuise.
Now I've seen the blatant truth
but at what dreadful cost?
I can't recall what's real;
Within my consciousness, I'm lost.
