The Silence Of Compassion Poem by Starfish ZA

The Silence Of Compassion

Rating: 5.0

When did we stop caring
How can we explain
World of tragedy, world of pain
Flames of despair scorch the earth, skies weep with sorrow,
Tell me please, what about tomorrow?

When did we stop caring
Is there no love I ask
Cries of sorrow, pain covered with a mask
Tears like rivers, hearts heavy as stone
Who would be the one to standup and tell?

When did we stop caring
Money, Power, greed, and selfishness
Oh, so overcome with helplessness
What has become of humanity
Now and tomorrow lives turned into tragedy

When did we stop caring
When all around us our worlds divide
Does it make sense as we wait for this to subside
Families by tragedy hopelessly apart
Seeking peace to mend their broken hearts

Yet, in the silence, a whisper of hope,
A call to action, a way to cope.
Stand up, speak out, let compassion reign,
Together, we can heal the pain.
