He was drowning.
He was screaming.
But there was no one to save him.
He was trying to survive.
But all he could hear was the sound of the water and the silence of the lake.
Everything around him slowly faded away until there was nothing left to see.
He tried to breathe, but he was already full of water.
The only thing he hoped for was a hand reaching down to bring him back.
A heavy pressure settled in his chest.
His body instinctively fought for life, even though his soul was about to give up.
The cold took over him, leaving him trembling.
His limbs became weaker and weaker, and in his final minutes, they completely gave out.
The sounds of the world quietly disappeared beneath the surface.
He was my friend, a good friend.
I wish I had been there to save him.
But how could I?
We lost contact after school ended.
It's been five years since he left me.
I still miss him, in ways words can never explain.
Some people leave, but they never truly leave our hearts.
