The Silent Cry! Poem by Thejashree Gandhamaneni

The Silent Cry!

She pleaded for mercy, a woeful cry
As gruesome misery ravaged her life
A grisly hand clasped over her mouth
Silencing her screams, stifling her strife

They sought to strangulate her very breath
Leaving her shattered, in a lifeless death
Her body broken, her spirit worn
No one to rescue her, alone she was torn.
