The Silent Pain Poem by Shivaalika Julka

The Silent Pain

Some words unsaid,
Some sounds unheard,
Some things unlearned,
Some memories undone.

And after all the pain comes the numbness,
After the numbness comes acceptance,
And life resumes in the same place and pace.

Illusions shatter,
The world is a different place.
Eyes search for the one most wanted,
The person is missing from the crowd.

And yet, nothing stops the heart from beating,
Nothing consoles the innocent beast,
Nothing stops it from repeating.

The shadows of hope indiscreet,
It shudders, it waits, it startles,
It slithers, it triggers,
And hopes- with all indignity.

A hope that is everlasting,
A hope that is meagre,
A hope that is beyond reality,
The pain still persists.

No matter how much the exterior contradicts the interior,
No matter how much the heart contradicts the mind,
It still exists, the pain still exists with your memories...
