Why had Gandhi to go up to and stay in Noakhali
Hearing the afflicted and affected people,
Why had he to camp in for listening to painful stories
Tearing us apart,
The curse and sin of Noakhali,
Will it be able to wash off, wipe out,
I think, no; no, it will not be able to
Wash off, wipe out its sins which it did,
Crimes which but committed it,
Killing, violence and bloodshed did it
And after doing the gruesome murders,
Could it, could it its crimes against man and mankind,
Could it, could it hide in, cover up its innocent murders
Done in cold blood, out of enmity, malice, misanthropy
Which but history will not pardon it?
