The Six-Toed Lady Poem by Emma Fields

The Six-Toed Lady

When the six-toed lady walks into the foot store
she can't handle it no more.
Everyone staring at that extra toe.
Why does everyone have to be so low?
She sees the worker at the counter and walks up to the girl
whose head only contained one curl,
and asks to buy a pair of shoes.
The girl must choose
to ignore the gross footed lady
or to keep talking to her friend Cady.
She took one look at the lady
and continued to talk to her friend Cady.
Then Catty began to giggle
and the whole counter began to wiggle
by the time she found out what the giggling was about
she saw to no doubt
the lady was out the door
and she was left tending the store.
