When I opened my mouth,
The waves made their way
My haywire tongue that surged
My long confined words,
And chorus inside me wanted
To get out of the closet,
And I sang with you.
The seasons passed
With bitter thoughts
My life taught me lessons.
Your grin delights my soul
And my patience shrunk
The thirst for buoyant thrill
Your words enthralled my being,
And I communing with your existence
Cleared my darkest mirage.
I didn’t know you, but your voice
In some virginal daybreak
Or in scorched noon
Enchanting the songs within my heart
Divulged my lyrics…
The songs of my joy,
The songs of my tears…I sing to you.
