The Song Behind My Lips - Poem by J.k. de Quiroz
Walking forward, pacing
toward me.
A hymn clings
on my tongue.
The wind from my lungs
cannot push it away.
You exist, forsaken;
forbidden to hear -
a hymn falls back,
forever trapped,
the song
behind my lips.
