The Song Inside Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

The Song Inside

The ancient words are written deep,
Like secrets that the mountains keep.
Some see the stone, the dust, the clay,
A story told in simple way.
But others hear the song inside,
Where truths and mysteries reside.

He does not ask for narrow sight,
Or chains that lock the morning light.
For when the heart begins to search,
Beyond the walls of rigid church,
He meets the seeker on the road,
And helps to lift the heavy load.

The poem shifts with every eye,
Beneath the vast and open sky.
Just as a verse may touch the soul,
And paint a part, yet mean the whole,
The sacred scroll is woven wide,
With room for grace to step inside.

So do not fear the honest thought,
Or lessons that the years have taught.
The God of love, of patient breath,
Who walked past fear and past even death,
Knows that the spirit, wild and free,
Seeks depth, not just the literal key.

No judgment falls for asking why,
Or letting symbols lift and fly.
For faith is not a closing door,
But stepping out to learn much more;
To read the layers, old and grand,
Held gently in a loving hand.
