The Speaker Of Truth Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Speaker Of Truth

he's got fire
in his eyes and they all become
candles
melting in the coldness of their nights
until what is left
are the weaknesses of their wicks
coiled on the pavements
of their naked
selves

not one somehow
calls for help
not one
shows remorse
not even
guilt
