The Steppe Nefertiti Poem by Catherine Yen

The Steppe Nefertiti

The Queen in east
Steppe Nefertiti
Dressing the triumph in red
Galloping her gesture through the green
Let the black hair shed as it can be
Lend the grace to a regal dignity
Figure the powerful and self confident
Tempered by a smiling serenity
Downcast the gaze suggested a highly spirit
Head up the heaven toward the circling hawk
The black eyes shine to their significant distance
Silent as the golden sun
Quiet as the tender sea
None can usurp her height
While quivering afar the fiddles
Rearing the air of celestial
As a whip hand gains her fame
Withered by a nameless grave
Merits and demerits
She leaves to the descendants to judge
Soft still the prairie is like a gentle reed
Flowing the song like a bouncing wave
Let the heart open for her
Come down the showers
As blossom
Surrender to the secret of
Her final freedom
