The sea brought a skull shaped stone to me,
Cold, hard and peculiar,
As a child I could almost hear the ocean through it's eyes,
I thought it could hear me,
This skull of stone has been here for many years,
And will remain long after I am gone,
I shall leave it when my life has ceased to be,
For my life, my loves, my family,
Or maybe I should return it to the ocean floor,
But this weird little stone with it's eyes, nose and mouth,
Has a place on my shelf and my heart,
It is in me forevermore
