The Storm Poem by Naih Garang

The Storm

From sky to ground
The thunder rumbles,
Every nerve was awaken,
The body had stumbled.

From my head to toe
I became very light,
It was nothing but a blight,
A fight others would say.

The world was as if moving,
Moving away from its position
All seemed to be showing,
Hard to swallow but that was the portion.

I couldn't feel myself
Alive, all was numb
In my body, I could neither hear
Nor see, it seem my world was getting darker.

The sweat trickled down
From eyes and temple
Running down to my spongy cheeks
Sending a cold chill down my spine.

The fear emanate from unknown,
The heart was not settled
As the coldness increased
Filling and drenching all clothes
That I was wearing.

The fear of the unknown
Made even the room pitch dark,
From mind, I could see
Silhouetted shadow of nothing,
Just sketch and waves of tides from sea.

The cold waves of win
Made my body calm,
I could feel my body with my hand
But then I couldn't rewind
To remember that I actually
Was in water and not just a dream.
