The Stranger Poem by Kareem Olatinwo

The Stranger

I continued with my daily routine,
Like a normal average teen,
I walked down the hallway,
Reflecting on my day,

Then I felt an unexpected stranger,
That I first thought brought me danger,
Then the feeling began to linger,
All the way even in my finger,

For this feeling was that of love,
That was fluttering in my heart like an excited dove,
And all my words came out as a stutter,
And my best of sentences were always a mutter,

I didn't know if this love was mutual,
I didn't know if the feeling was unusual,
But all the same I felt,
That this love could never melt,

But I could never know,
That the love that took me below,
Would so soon end,
In a way I could never mend.
