The Stress Dress Poem by James Asher

The Stress Dress

God help me!
I’m suffering from stress.
So confused I wore a dress.
The thing I found so very nice,
I liked the dress, so I wore it twice.

Now!

When I get angry and full of stress,
I go home and put on the dress.
Even though the dress is nice,
I can’t go out and wear it twice.
And even though I think I can,
I know I can’t,
I’m a man.

It’s not the fact that I’m a male,
And all my friends have gone so pale.
The thing that’s gone and broke my heart
Is that all my friends said “we must part.”
And all because I suffer from stress,
And I decided to put on a dress.
