The Strongest Tree's Poem by Dane Monteforte

The Strongest Tree's

Looking for a place to lay and get a little Rest
The sand's are hot, the pavement cold-it's shaded grass that I like Best
I spot a tree-in the distance-A beckoning old ancient Oak
I work my way towards it's leaves has a Refugee-Seeking comfort & cover under it's heavy Cloak
I meet this massive grandfatherly tree in all it's Eminence
I admire it's strong live wood-that has surpassed & survived all thats bad and good
and made it Past-Tense
My eye's are weary-my mind is Too-I take off my hat and unstrap my Shoes
My mood is still blue has I stretch on the Grass
I drift off in Destitute, Dreary, Distress- Dreading Days not yet Passed
My docile Mind is stolen by Sleep
Has I Creep through the meadow's of Dream's in a Heap
My ear turns to a Creak
I Can hear the wind but Not Feel the Breeze
And as I turn around I am facing a row of Monstrous Trees
I hear a voice but there is no-one around to Speak
Just me standing my ground, the wind, & tree's going Creak
............But clear as the day..I hear these words
'Son we know you have walked a many mile
The Journey is long & Harsh
Don't give up-Endure your trials & maintain your Foward March
You see us tree's up here with Birds-knotted-knarled-but Alive
If you are wise then heed these Words when you feel like you are going to Crash and Burn then
Apply more Will and Determination to your Marching Stride
If you Strive for excellence than you can not go Wrong
Keep Strong-Keep Going-Just Keep Pushing Through & As
You come Along & keep Growing...Then you can see the birds with us too.'
-Another tree speaks-
'The Road will leave you bruised and Torn
Some Will Weep some will Mourn
when your Born your Journey Begins
Withstand your Storms as we have endured the Lightning & Winds
Not many will make it___but you have been Fore-Warned
THE TALLEST AND STRONGEST TREE'S WITHSTAND THE WORST STORMS'
