The Struggle Within Poem by NEHA RAUTELA

The Struggle Within

Mind thou art a web of complication
Thou cast thy opinion on every situation.
& define what is and what ought to be
Frame in words for others to see

Yet sometimes the feelings of my heart overshadow reason,
& comes there a joyous spring in any season
Chimes of love ring in my ear
For emotions yes I do have a flair!

& between the tempest thus arose a third element
What you call soul, I another segment
Struggles for sleep oh! poor me…
From the moonlit night to hours wee

All night along I hear the sound
Of my rapidly beating heart
& yet the memories in my brain,
Tell us to be apart!

For in this duel whoever may win
I am sure to lose
Either my mind and its thoughts
Or my heart to you!
