The Sun Shines Icy Rays Poem by Stephan van Pinksteren

The Sun Shines Icy Rays

The sun shines on my face,
And the shadows disappear.
I look towards the light.
Until I no longer see clear.

I close my eyes,
And let the warmth fill my mind.
All the bad times seem to fade away.
But when I open my eyes what will I find.

Will I find a meadow of heaven?
Will I see green pastures or open plains?
Will I travel trough creeks and lakes?
Will I feel the love flowing through my veins?

But when I opened my eyes again,
I felt a cold creeping inside my heart,
An icy feeling passed right through me,
I realized I was still alive and torn apart.

I woke up in the hospital,
Seeing my wrist bandaged.
Blood covering the sheets,
And my dreams damaged.
