The Sun Will Shine Poem by Kira Parson

The Sun Will Shine

I try and try and try,
I push with all my might,
And as I smile through the day,
I lay down with tears in my eyes at night,

No matter how hard I push and try,
I'll never be able to play my part,
Because I'm only half a person,
I know that in my heart,

And even with this knowledge bouncing in my head,
I still fight,
I still push through the pain,
Hoping to make it right,

People expect me to smile,
Do they know how much it hurts?
Do they see my sadness?
Do they understand my curse?

People expect so much,
Do they know how hard I try?
Sometimes I think it'd be easier,
To just lay down and die,

But then I get a glimpse of the bigger picture,
And I see the world's pain,
And understand mine is nothing compared to it,
So I have no room to complain,

I also know in my heart,
That I will get through,
They say time heals all wounds,
And I hope for my sake it's true,

But I know the pain will not just disappear,
We all keep our our battle scars,
And we cant forget the past,
For it makes us who we are,

The sun will shine tomorrow,
The rain will clear away,
So tonight I'll wipe my tears,
For tomorrow's a brand new day.
