The Sunflower Poet's Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

The Sunflower Poet's

It is the concentration,
The engagement of a child's gaze
I am always looking for.
It is the wonderment of the Azure Window.
Looking back into the mirror of the self
And seeing all as it is, that is meant to be seen.
That occupies my imagination
To the point of abstraction, a daydream.

It is this and this alone that holds my attention.
Till, like a wilting burgundy sunflower.
The gaze of the sun burns me at my root core.

It's this beauty, this warmth,
The rays of the sun, magnifying
Indeed, I capture, nothing more.
It is this and nothing more that I actually,
Truly live for. Turning 360 degrees
Spilling these leaves for.
It's this beauty, this warmth,
The rays of the sun, magnifying
Indeed, I capture, nothing more.
