The Sunset Poem by Philip St. Cyr

The Sunset

As the sun lurks beneath the shadows
the clouds in the sky are radiant
exhibiting an iridescent array
such as a rainbow across a cloud-ridden sky
the tone of the heavens slowly darkening
the seemingly calm ocean tide awakens
tossing its waves as they oscillate violently
as the florescent glow of the moon reflects on the water below
daylight has vanished
leaving a dazzling array of uncanny elegance and splendor in the sky above
one by one the stars illuminate as they form the shapes of various constellations
the day is over as the sun awaits for another day to begin.
