The Sweetest Torment Poem by Leonardo David Tay

The Sweetest Torment

Tease me with a sight
A sight so sweet, so blissful
It doesn't matter if I yearn, because I know right,
That the torment it will cause, it could be nothing but painful

I have come to accept this fate,
The fate so painfully apparent
To this end, I could not debate
For this torment was so clearly inherent

Tantalizing as you are,
You made me dream, dream, and dream
A dream so distant and far
Now I wish that we could be joined by a seam

Now I seek all this was reality
I could no longer bear it
Now I fall into insanity
Where nothing is ever lit

Now I'll yearn at your feet
Whatever it takes to deliver me
Away from pain and to what I seek
Then finally, it will only be you who I see

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My friend has been going through really hard times lately (a girl) , and I wrote this poem in dedication to his pain. I asked for his permission and he nodded with the most solemn of faces.
