The Teenage Girl Sitting In The Bazaar Before A Nondescript Teastall Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Teenage Girl Sitting In The Bazaar Before A Nondescript Teastall

Modern Life And Its Strange Personae/ Hunger, Human Hunger, For The Belly, For The Poor Body/ The Poor Teenage Girl In The Bazaar Saw I Her Sitting Desperately, Looking With An Awkward Gaze Unawares

The teenage girl I see her sitting in the bazaar,
That somewhat dark-complexioned slim girl,
Not so dark, but darkly silhouetted,
A portrait beautiful in the faded clumsy jeans
And shirt wearing a shirt and sitting before on a bench
But with a nice face-cutting
Sitting before a roadside teastallof the busway,
Seeing it all, but saying it not, letting it not bare her wounded self,
Expressing it not the things of her inner heart
Looking desperate and depressed
In this age of monetary alues,
When how to survive and sustain is a problem
She keeps waiting, waiting for
Along with her poor stall-running mother
cothed in asoiled sari, making tea to sell,
I do not what is it in store for her,
Where will this life lead to,
The modern pace of living
Or lifeas intricate and complex it was?
What willit flesh trade give her to
When man is but hypocritical and self-orientated
Whobut knows nothing but use and throw
Into the dustbin of baser stuffs,
I do not
What will modernity to her,
Modern cinemas and dramatic impacts?
