The Thing About Our Love... Poem by Derrick Andrews

The Thing About Our Love...

Rating: 4.5

The feelings I have for you I keep deep inside,

I yearn for your attention, but continue to hide,

I want you to love me, the way I love you,

But it stings my pride to know that can't be true,

The pain wells up, like an unstoppable cry,

I'd ask you that question, but I fear your reply,

My pride is too strong, to be put on the line,

So I lock up my emotions, I assume that is fine,

But I could never restrain the passion I feel,

When I look in your eyes I can tell that it's real,

I can't help but smile at you, you're just so unique,

The way that you walk, the way that you speak,

Just something about you, seems so pure,

I'm sick in the head for you, an there isn't a cure,

I can't help but disguise how strongly I feel,

So I just maintain with you, and try to stay real,

I don't want you to know that I love you so much,

How I long for your love, your kiss, your touch,

And it seems like everyday my love just grows stronger,

I fear I can't hide my feelings any longer,

So with that I can say that I think that you know,

Why I can't let you love me, I can't let it show,

If anything, only my passion will grow,

I'll love you forever, but I must let you go...
