The Trees Swayed To And Fro Poem by Oshikeme ogedengbe

The Trees Swayed To And Fro

The trees swayed to and fro
As I walked deeper into the woods
I carried my bow
and pulled up my hood

The monster was waiting for me
it was licking it's lips
roaming free
waiting for my bones to be ripped

the snow seemed even heavier
as I truged on
not any more merrier
and not having any fun

suddenly a deep howl
filled the woods
louder than any growl
that almost made me lose my food

A sound of footsteps
walked my way
and I knew the door step to death
was on it's way

I lost all thought
and ran
I didn't want to be caught
but I didn't have a plan

I stumbled
and fell
I tumbled
and gave a yell

A pain shot through my ankle
i struggled to get up
but something had me tangled
I needed an adrenaline pump
