The Trench Poem by Mystykka Mysterious

The Trench

I'm trapped.
This trench has swallowed me.
Dark, muddy, yet I can see the light.
It's taunting me,
Showing me how things could be,
If only I survive the fight.

The walls are slick,
I try to climb,
But I slide back down,
Covered in slime.

Yet I keep trying,
I'm determined to fight.

A hard clot: I pull myself up.
But it looses its own battle
As I fall back into the darkness.

Yet I try again,
But this pointless battle is not worth the fight.
I'll always lose,
But still, there remains that light.

The light I need to see,
It's now fading away,
But I know,
It will come again another day.
For now, I've lost the battle,
But I know my chance will come again.
Just as the day turns into night,
The darkness turns into light.
